Hurricane Arthur OBX Detour .... To the Lake House...

With Arthur approaching the Outer Banks we decide to end our stay a few days early.
The Lake House weather was clear for the next few days so we detoured there.
It was the best decision and the kids all had a wonderful time.
I was able to get a few new pics of the New Lake House.

Guest Room 2 Closet
This Closet it big enough for the twins tents and more.
But Bella declined on having her own room.

And then the Fun Vacation Continues....

Aiden had the best seat. Kylie was a little afraid to sit in the back.

A few boat rides.

When Jaxson is trying to show you something he closes one eye and points to it.

This Dr does Fireworks every year.
We opted to see his display later that night as you will see scrolling down.
But this is a picture as we went by in the afternoon.

Someone was very Happy he got to drive the boat.

Just as Grammy looked up for a picture of them both looking my funny guy makes a face.

Night time boat ride to see Fire Works.

All of these pictures are in Manual and without a flash.
They are dark because how it actually looked outside.

The next day we went on another boat ride.
This one was to go swimming and tubing.
Destine' and Steven were first.

Oh and I tried something for the first time with my camera.
I took video with it.
I am still learning how to use this feature.
While taking video you can also take pictures.
However, you can't change the settings (shoot in manual) while taking video.
So what ever the camera decides for the settings is what you get.
OR at least I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
Some of these are not the best quality although I am sure I am probably the only one who will really notice the flaws.

We were going really fast and trying to throw them off.
I think that's why they are so blurry.

We were all amazed that Aiden and Kylie decided to try out tubing.
Aiden paved the way for Kylie.
He was so brave getting on with his Dad.

Thumbs up and up the speed a little.

Aiden did Awesome!
We were all very proud of him.

To our surprise after seeing Aiden go Kylie wanted to try.

They didn't go really fast but they still had a great time.
Kylie loved it.

Our brave Aiden and Kylie typically do NOT go in the lake.
We were surprised that they floated for such a long time when we stopped to swim.

Bella and Jaxson had no interest in actually swimming in the lake.

They were happy with their snacks and drinks on the boat.

Sissy rarely gets in the Lake water.
I am sure Steven peer pressure had something to do with it.

Grammy panics a little and made Destine tether to the boat while she floated.

Lukas wanted (or thought he wanted) to go in the Lake too.
He watched Daddy (Uncle Cory) get ready to splash Aiden and Kylie.

Uncle Cory got them all.

Grammy and Aunt Kelly though that maybe a bucket of Lake water would sooth his curiosity about the Lake. It did not.

So Lukas's Dad got ready to take him in.
Yup, that's a life vest up side down.

...And he didn't like it as much as he thought he would.

Absolutely hated it.

Back Happy in Mommy's arms.

Dad and Steven thought it was time Des got in the Lake

Not Steven's favorite sport, Kayaking.

He hated it but still went out there everyday because Destine' loves it.

The back of the new Lake House.

It's tough work hanging out at the Lake House.

Crayola Wonder Markers Fun At the Lake

Evening Fishing at the Lake.
 All four kids started fishing.
Only one was left at the end.
Fishing takes patience and only Bella had them.

With Grammy's help Bella caught the boat.
That's about all they caught that night.
Sissy rescued the boat.

At one point I realized that Bella had one of her flip flops on and one of Kylie's flip flops on.

After the kids got board of fishing it was the big kid's turn.
Of course as soon as the kids went up, the fish started biting.
Steven caught a lot of little fish and one great big cat fish.

Huge Cat fish.
It broke the line while he was trying to get it in the boat.

A bunch of little fish.

He didn't care what size the fish were.
He was a happy little kid catching fish.

He fished until it was too dark for me to take any more pictures.

We had a great time at the Lake.
It was the perfect ending to a perfect week.
Hurricane Arthur did us a great favor and we got the best of both worlds.
The Beach and The Lake.

Thanks Grammy and Grampy for having us all to the Lake.
