Until you have been there you really can not truly understand the magnitude of the Kid Exchange.
These are Cell Phone Photos, I apologize for the quality.
This is one rack of about 30 that take up half of the warehouse that is as big as the Orange County Fair or picture two of the Newburgh malls side by side as an open building.
The kid exchange is held in two buildings.
This is the bigger building and the other building with the bigger items: cribs, outdoor houses, beds, pack n plays, high chairs, walkers, jump a roo's, car seats, train tables, kid tables, ride on toys, hundreds of bikes, and hundreds of strollers, is next door.
This is half of all the small swings (big swings are in the other building) and bouncy seats.
This is hard to tell but it is tables of toys and in the far back the racks of clothes.
This is just one half, there is more to the right in this picture.
This is from the check out line.
The rows of toys.
Each row is made of two long tables pushed together.
Each section (barbie, fisher price, vtech, Thomas the train, trucks, electronics, dolls, games, puzzles, little tike's, kitchens, learning toys) is four tables together.
Ride on toys and spin zebra toys.
Sit n Spin section. Now picture a section for Pottys, diaper pails, booster seats, bath tubs, feeding.
Better picture of the rows of toys.
Some sections have sleepers, socks, bibs, onesies, hats all in zip lock bags. Each has a boy girl section and in size order.
Fisher price section. Under the tables are full as well.
There are three sections of these dividers for the check out line.
If you can imagine there are 3000 sellers.
Sellers are allowed to shop early on Thursday.
This year I was luck the line only took me an hour to sail through.
Last year it was closer to two hours.
On Friday, Saturday, Sunday it is open to the public and they estimate about 30,000 people shop then.
Sunday is the busiest because it is 50% off (only if it is marked).
These are a few of my treasures I found this year.
This pattern matches the set we have. We have the
Greco doll pack n play, car seat and single stroller.
These little coops go for $60 at walmart.
I got the purple princess one for $20 and the blue jeep for $16.
These are my photo props.
The cradle for $8, the Block $10 (can also sit on it) both of these need Big Jim's magic touch.
And the little Radio Flyer wagon for $6.
This was just too cute. It is a little big and Jaxson will have to grow into it but I couldn't pass it up $10 for both.
The rest of the clothes I got ranged $6-$8 for dresses for Kylie.
Shirts for Jaxson $1-$4
and a couple outfits for Bella $4-$5.
I did get Kylie one pair of Capri's for $8 but that's because they were Gymboree brand.
This was another awesome find.
One Step a Head has these twin chairs with an umbrella for $50 plus shipping.
I got these (no stains or dirt-like new) for $25 and I already have an umbrella.
Getting ready for the kid exchange is always challenging as is anything I try to do with twins.
You have to zip lock or packing tape your items together.
Print bar code tags with your consignor number and the price for each item.
And hang all clothes on wire hangers with a printed tag zip tied or pined to the clothes.
If it is a two piece you have to pin the pants or shorts to the hanger.
Plastic hangers break when the die hard shoppers are going up and down the isles piece by piece.
Seriously people bring wagons with home made PVC pipe making a clothes rack.
It is crazy.
I had a full Truck load of stuff to sell.
This small bag is all that was left on Monday when I went to pick up.
You use white card stock tags for donation and colored card stock tags for things you want to pick up if they don't sell.
This is pick up day and what is left.
The big brown boxes at the end of each isle is the donation.
They line up your items that are left on a roll of paper with your sort number (my number is 1761) in order. You find your stuff by your number.
This is the left over toy section.
I know, almost nothing left.
Craziest sale I have ever seen.
Thanks Aunt Caroline for all the hangers, keep saving them.
I need more wire hangers for the next sale.
They have a sale in July and in Jan every year.
