He is worse than a Piranha...

Poor Poor Bella... On Monday of last week Jaxson started a new habit and it's not a good one. He started biting. In addition to teething and chewing on every toy, when he gets angry or frustrated he lashes out by biting. Bella being the closes one to him most of the time and the object of some of his frustrations is the victim. So far she has been bitten by Jaxson 9 times, yes 9 times. Once on Monday, four times on Thursday, twice over the weekend and twice today. These are just the times that I am not fast enough to stop it. After Monday and then on Thursday, I can kinda of predict and catch him before impact.

Since they have been playing together and interacting more, it also means they are having disagreements over toys and when Jaxson gets angry he bites anything that is close to him. That is including me, toys and mostly Bella. When I hear the start of a disagreement I run over and try to catch him but sometimes he is just too fast. I can't leave them in the coral if I need to leave the room (the bathroom or to run up and switch a load of laundry), now I have to take one with me or put one in a chair. It is not fun. After Thursday mornings four bites I practically carried Bella around with me all day and then all day on Friday.

So how do you stop a 14 month old from biting???? I have no Idea and I am open to any suggestions. When Kylie and Destine' went through this faze I simply bit them back. Not hard enough to make a mark but enough to explain that this hurts and we don't want to hurt others. They were a little older, it shocked them and they understood. It never happened again. I will not be trying this on Jaxson because I feel this will not work, he is too little.

Jaxson and Bella, even though they are the same age, they are not mentally on the same page. I believe this is a Boy/Girl thing. While Jaxson doesn't understand yet what is going on, Bella does. When he bites I immediately remove him, tap his lips with my finger and say "No biting!" very sternly and place him in time out (either the chair or his bed). He usually cry's. He knows he is doing something wrong but he doesn't know it is the biting, Yet! He will get it soon but he is not there yet. When I take him out of time out I give him a teething toy and distract him from Bella. Hopefully sooner than later for poor Bella's sake and Mommy's. Mommy is pulling her hair out and hoping her cute little baby boy will stop using her cute little baby girl as a teething ring. Until this faze is over I am watching him like a hawk.

Here are some other cute pictures from this week.

Saying Hello...

He is mad and just bit the red pen because he can't figure out how to get the toy he put threw the bars back out.

After the Easter Bunny

Evil Bella..

Dr. Bella, One of Bella's favorites toys is her stethoscope. Almost every day she has this around her neck. (Don't worry Mom, if Jaxson grabs it, and he has, it just comes off) If you get close to her she will listen to your heart.

Evil Jaxson.

Isn't he a cute little angel? My little Piranha!

He really is too cute to be anything but an angel.
