I posted a while back what a tough mudder was and how awesome it was that Destine', Steven and Jimmy were going to participate in one.
Let me add what a tough mudder is all about.
Tough Mudder is a charity marathon that doesn't focus on winning or a timed race.
It is a charity that supports the Wounded Warrior Project.
It is about team work and not leaving your man behind.
It was as a spectator an amazing experience.
As a participant I can only imagine the pride of accomplishing something like this.
I am so proud of all three of them.
Jimmy's co-worker, Lane was also on their team.
Start of the race.
Before the Mud
Stretching and learning the help signals (if they need medical help they were to make that sign with there arms above their heads.)
That is real barbed wire.
I watched a few girls get their hair tangled in it and cut out.
Getting high fives from our cheering squad
I walked through cow pie pastures with the double stroller.
Those that have driven one of those knows how really challenging that is.
Then we went through the woods.
Jaxson actually walked/ran most of the way
This obstical had holes under the water that were as deep as Jimmy is tall.
Yup he fell in...
This is the trail through the woods
It took four adults to get us through
It was a tough mudder for us as well.
We trudged up and down unpaved hills,
through wooded trails that I needed kind strangers to help carry my kids and stroller through.
I pushed all three on the double jogger.
Yet It was worth it to see them accomplish such a goal.
He said yes.
Amazingly enough we did not get one speck of orange clay in my clean truck.
They showered outside in the cold and we put all their muddy clothes in contractor bags.
We also put my stroller wheels in the bags.
I am so proud of my mudders.
It was an amazing weekend.
So crazy that we will need a sitter next Oct.
They've talked me into doing the next Tough Mudder with them.
Let the training begin!
PS we are NOT taking my truck next time and we will be staying at a hotel the night after to get the orange clay off before going home.
