Kid Exchange Time
This years Kid exchange was early.
It is usually in Feb but this year it was Jan.
I enlisted as much help as I could.
Every piece of clothing needed to be hung on wire hangers.
They also need to be put in piles of boys and girls and by size.
When we prop off we have to put them in the right place by size.
All our clothes are on hangers and our PJ's are still in the totes.
Daddy helped tag.
Every piece needed a price tag.
I print off tags with my bar-code.
We have to write a description and size of each item on the tag, then tag it with a zip tie.
This took all day one Saturday.
The PJ's in the tote also needed to be put in individual zip-lock baggies, packing taped up
and tagged also with a description and size.
Kylie helped me make and organize the tags by size and color.
The white tags are for items that do not sell that you want to donate.
Color card stock tagged items are sorted after the sale for you to pick up the Monday following the sale.
This is the Kid Exchange.
I was looking for a specific book "the little engine that could" for a photo prop.
I took one look in the book room and decided I would get it on Amazon for $5 instead.
This is only a small corner of the book room.
A home made cart that the lady in front of me in line had.
This year I had a plan.
I was there at the opening of the sale.
Sellers get to go the day before it opens to the public.
There are over 3000 sellers and each seller is given two passes for the sellers sale.
So it is still quite crowded.
I got there early and went through the toy section really fast, paid before the line go to long and went back in for clothes.
Clothes always take way too long.
You can imagine by the pictures of racks.
Each size is one isle.
That's a lot of clothes to go through.
I start with Kylie and Jaxson (because they don't get hand me downs) and then I do Bella.
By the time I get to Bella I am exhausted.
I am also not a hard core looker.
Some ladies go through every piece of clothing. I kinda skim through and only stop if I see something.
This is my toy score.
I got some great props.
This is my clothes score.
These are the outfits I got.
Summer PJ's for Jaxson
Summer Shirts for Jaxson
A few long sleeve shirts, shorts and two jackets size five for next fall.
Kylie's Summer dresses and two swim suit covers.
Two Jackets and PJ's for Kylie

Two Summer outfits, Skirts, and shorts for Kylie
Summer PJ's for Bella
Summer Shirts for Bella and a sweater size 5 for next fall
Fancy dress for Bella

Dress up costume Kylie and Bella's size.
I am going to do Valentines pictures
Cinderella Dress up for Kylie and Bella
Prop Chair
Prop wooden train $3 (my favorite deal)
High Chair for Grammy's house.
Prop
(my other Tonka truck actually Jaxson's Tonka
truck is too small, I needed another one for newborns)
Extra train tracks for Jaxson $20 for both bags.
Wooden plane prop (I just found a aviator hat on Etsy-so excited)
Big Duck for bath time props
Bat Cave for Jaxson to go with his superhero toys.
We always have arguments over our one Loving Family doll house.
I found these one was $20 and the other was $8.
Awesome deal!
Bella may not have gotten as many clothes but she got a new doll house.
I did look for a garage but couldn't find one.
But that is his new spider-man car and he loves his super hero toys.
No more arguments over houses.
After I cleaned the new houses I realized how dusty ours was.
I ended up cleaning all the doll house stuff.
I think I caught Aiden off guard by taking a picture.
They were playing family in a subdivision.
Hey Aiden there is nothing wrong with that.
Monday after the sale I had ot go pick up what didn't sell.
I am always amazed at how little is left.
This is all that is left of the clothes racks.
They place your items in order by your sort number.
They place your toy items also by sort number for pick up.
This is all that is left from the big item room.
This is all that was left of my stuff.
They have the sale twice a year.
In Feb and in July.
Every time I go I am amazed at how big the sale is.
Over 30.000 people go to the public sale.
Sunday is 1/2 price day but every thing is usually gone by then.
You choose if you want your stuff to go half price when you print your tags.
I only mark items half price if they are going to charity.
The rest I bring to the next sale.
I only get rid of stuff I don't think anyone would want for hand me downs.
I keep three piles of stuff when I am going through my stuff.
I keep a McDonald pile, a Webb pile and Destine/Grand kid pile.
If I don't think it will be in style or that they would want it for their kids, it goes in the Kid Exchange pile.
Most of my big items I am keeping for Grand kids.
Yeah I know that sounds crazy but not that crazy.
Hopefully at least 4+ years away but not far enough for me to get rid of all my well kept things.
I take great care of everything we have.
It was either given to us or bought by us.
We appreciate every gift ever given to us.
I usually break even.
I get my check two weeks after the kid exchange.
I get the kids the next season of clothes and a few toys for the next stage.
I usually spend almost exactly what my check is.
This time I will probably make a little extra.
ALL of the money I make I split three ways and put into their bank accounts.
The next Kids Exchange is July 21th to July 28th.
Please friends who save wire hangers for me, KEEP saving.
I had a full tote of clothes I couldn't put out because I didn't have wire hangers.
They will not allow plastic hangers.
THANK YOU Aunt Caroline and Jenn Decker for your hangers, I used every hanger for this sale.
