Down by the River ...

One of my favorite places on Earth is the Cornwall on Hudson waterfront.
When I was a child we would walk (with a few neighbors) to the river every summer night after dinner.
We would have adventures of climbing the river bank, throwing rocks, gathering rocks for our "collection", we would build bridges and dams.  We would teeter across logs from one side of the inlet to the other.  We would collect the ever famous seed of Eurasian Water Chestnut (aka the triangle black pods).
These childhood memories are why it is important to take my children there.

We were so excited to have Jaxson see he first train in person.
As you can tell it was a little big and loud.
He wasn't too sure about big trains.

NaNa made him feel better by waving to the train.

Lets go fly a kite...

NaNa was on pooper duty.
LOL she de-geese pooped our area.

Nothing like a little education lesson.

These are just a few examples of how impossible it is to get a good picture of my own kids.

These last two are the ones that bring back the most memories.
Maybe it is just how quiet it looks
 or
maybe it's how little our two girls look and how big the river looks around them.
I remember the river looking that big to me
&
now it all looks so small.
