Anniversary Weekend...

For our Anniversary we got to go away for a weekend.
We headed to the Historical Wilmington NC.
We stopped in to see Destine' and Steven.
They came along for the day!

Our first stop was Jimmy's favorite restaurant with Beer Nugget's.

It was a busy weekend in Wilmington.
St Patrick's day and a Marathon.
The streets were crowded.

This is the Battle Ship that we visited a few months ago.

Found this little shop.

After we got done in down town Wilmington we headed over to Arlie Gardens.

This Moss is used in a lot of crafting.
It is in abundance hanging off trees.
I will eventually get a few bags.

A chapel made of bottles.

Turtles and fast ones if you ask Destine'.

Had Destine' take a picture of us.
I told her to to center us a little to the side.
Apparently she has a lot to learn before she can take over the Family business.

After the Arlie Gardens we headed over to Bellamy Mansion.
This Mansion is amazing.
During the Civil War Union forces used the Bellamy Mansion as their headquarters.

This building is the slaves quarter's and bathrooms.

The beautiful Bellamy Mansion.

The carriage house.

The bathrooms in the slave quarters.

The lady of the house's wheel chair.

The third floor is the children's quarters.
The windows that you see do not have screens and remain open during the summer.
Can you imagine small children running around.

Wash tub

This forth floor is the reason I believe the Union Troops used this house as headquarters during the war.

You can see all of Wilmington from here.

Wilmington is a very popular location for Movie Productions.
This building across from the Bellamy Mansion was just featured in a Jennifer Aniston Movie.

This is the helps staircase, located on the outside of the house.
They were not allowed to use the inside staircase.

After a beautiful day in Wilmington.
We went to the restaurant with the best service in town.

We had an educational and yummy dinner with Steven.
Then while we waited for Destine' to get out of work we got to go to a movie.
After the movie we met up with Destine and Steven at the Carolina Ale House for drinks and desert.

It was a great weekend.
We needed to get a break from our Zoo.
