... and her kinda mess room.
Not really, very small, bigger than last year but still small.
We brought a few little surprises from home.
My Spaghetti Pie.
Nana's Oatmeal Cookies and Banana Bread.
We got a quick tour of the Campus.
A quick glance down Chancellors Walk.
Nana, Coleen and Matt got to finally meet Steven.
They've been together for almost two years.
Steven had to report back to duty at Fort Brag.
Coleen and Matt headed off to Charleston.
Nana, Destine', Kylie and I headed off on our own adventure.
With it pouring on and off all day we headed to tour the
USS of North Carolina Battleship
Sitting in the Galley.
The ship had a room for everything.
With almost 2000 sailors on board and at sea for months, they needed everything on the ship.
The Bakery.
We walked through a ton of these doorways.
Kylie was very brave.
To a five year old this looked pretty scary but she did great.
She didn't like walking on the metal floors and the small rooms.
Engine room controls
Engine room
Main Control Room
They had more than one Galley for Eating.
All the metal in all the rooms was very heavy.
Kylie was not real happy I put her in this bowl but she is a good sport.
This is one of many soup and/or serving bowls in the galley.
Lots of small corridors.
Some places were sealed off by glass.
This is the shoe cobbler room (shoe repair).
We went 6 decks below on these small ladder type stairs.
Phone Booth
Another small hole to climb up.
Kylie was a trooper.
Destine' "How do they get Mail off the ship?"
Oh dear college girl... the plane we passed on our way in.
Ever wonder what's in a big ships medicine cabinet?
Destine's favorite room.
The Ice Cream Room.
You will notice that in every picture Kylie isn't actually touching anything.
She was a little scared but Mommy kept saying pretend to turn the wheel.
I meant actually hold it but she wouldn't.
The wishing well.
There is a bucket down below.
Some of the bunk rooms were six beds stacked.
I told Destine' imagine you had that many room-mates.
I also said imagine you could only bring one small locker full of stuff.
The Head.
Don't show Poppy this, he may change his shower rules.
Not really Poppy lets us take as long as we want but he may make Nana follow those rules. Ha Ha.
Destine' called this the Creepy Dive Room.
Dentist.
Laboratory.
Operating room
It did stop raining long enough for us to take a few pictures outside.
Anchors Away..
The big guns.
This was just a cool picture with the clouds in the sky.
Taking the steering wheel.
Front of the ship.
This was a signal station. Not sure how it worked though.
Whaling boat.
The plane that might bring and drop of mail.
It was a long tour, about two hours.
Kylie and Nana were both tired.
Destine's Car Garage.
Gathering Pine Cones Of Course.
It was a long day but fun day.
We miss Sissy already.
