To Step or not to Step....

Bella and Jaxson are so close to taking a few steps. A week ago, on last Sunday the 26th both Bella and Jaxson took a very steady first step. Normally my skittish little boy will crawl to me when I call him and try to get him to walk. On this day, I said "hey buddy come here" and to my surprise he turned and stood for 60 seconds took one step, stood for another 30 seconds and then tried to take another step and dove forward into my arms. We made such a big deal about it that Bella yelled in all the commotion and took two steady steps before she dove forward. So far they have only done it once but you can see that they are ready. It will only be a matter of days before they are walking. Just this week it seems to me they are growing so much. They play differently with their toys and they interact with each other. Bella has also figured out her weapon of choice against Kylie. If Kylie takes a toy, Bella will chase her down and grab at her hair with both hands. Kylie also learned a new trick. If they have a toy she wants to play with, all she has to do is try to get them a new toy they want more, then she can sneak the one she wants away when they go after the new toy.

Jaxson is my silly boy. He makes the craziest faces. His expressions are priceless. Just yesterday he added two more beautiful bottom teeth to his adorable smile. Now he has eight choppers.

Bella will stand like this and think about walking then she will cruse around on just her knees.

Jaxson loves his riding toys. He will also stand with his back to the play yard and hands at his side swinging them, like he wants to go forward but then falls to his knees.

Bella and Jaxson love the zebra. This was Kylie's toy when she was a baby. Kylie didn't like it that much and hardly rode it. But Jaxson and Bella love it and can get on all by themselves.

We have two very different eaters. Miss Bella is a really good eater. She will eat anything and as long as you keep giving her more she will eat it. She also hates bibs, well I'm not sure if she really hates them but she takes hers off before I can even give her anything to eat. She is so adamant about it that I have stopped trying to get her to keep it on and the crazy thing is that she doesn't make a mess. She will pick each piece of food and have hardly any on her lap or her clothes.

Jaxson is very different. He definitely needs a bib. Jaxson is also very picky. Some days even though I know he likes what I put in front of him and he loved it a day or two ago, he will just stare at it and give me his sad face. He wont even put it in his mouth and if I try he will spit it out. His favorite food right now is waffles, strawberry or blueberry waffles.

Kylie has been having the "I miss Sissy Blues" this week. Last weekend Kylie woke up crying that she needed Sissy. Every day since, she has talked about Sissy and how much she misses her. Everyday we count down the days until Sissy comes home. Sissy sent her a letter on Tuesday. Kylie was so excited to get a letter from Sissy.

She got stickers and a princess book.

I am convinced that Miss Bella is going to be in gymnastics. She loves to stretch and swing.

This weekend was what we called "Mommy Days". Since Daddy had help Grampy at the lake house, we were on our own this weekend. Mommy invented "Mommy Days" so Kylie wouldn't miss Daddy. Well we had a great "Mommy Days" weekend. We watched special movies at night and did special projects during the day. We went shopping and had dinner with Grammy.

The difference between my little eaters. This is her messiest face.

This is not his messiest face. This is every meal.

We are having a ton of fun learning new things and waiting for these guys to take off walking. Kylie is doing great in school and her hand writing has improved so much.

This week has been so busy. On Monday I started doing a little spring cleaning and it snowballed. It started with dusting, then I saw how dusty the ceiling fans were, then I saw how dusty the curtains were, while taking them down, I saw how dirty the windows were, while cleaning the windows, I noticed how dirty the window sills were, the light fixtures, the molding in the kitchen, then the half wall in the kitchen. This weekend I was able to finish the down stairs. As I move to cleaning up stairs, I only have a few things on my to do list, I am hoping it doesn't snowball again.

We are getting ready for special visitors next weekend. Nana, Coleen and Matt are coming down for a long weekend and finally Sissy comes home for a long visit. We are so excited. I am making curtains for our playroom and this week I will be making it into a guest room for Matt and Coleen. It will be a busy week but we just can't wait for next weekend!

I think they look older from just a few weeks ago. I can't wait to see some video footage of the two of them walking around. Miss you all! xo
