Over Whelmed or OCD? Probably both....

Soooooo when we got back from our trip
I was swallowed up by our house.
Kylie got a lot of new American girl stuff and she needed a new place to keep it safe.
So we started on her room.
That snowballed into a whole house de-clutter.
The de-clutter is something that I have been planning for a while now.
Destine' moving out has been very hard for me.
Not in a bad way but in it's different with out her here.
I felt an overwhelming need to go through everything.
It did help that I was able to give Destine and Steven a lot of things to help them get started.
Because that was my only reason for hanging on to some of that stuff.
Anyway Thus started my overhaul of our house.
MY OCD is in overdrive and I am not even close to being done.
We still have the garage and shed to organize.
I think we will need a dumpster for that.

Jimmy has his own plan.
He is going to work on getting each room done.
Starting with the dinning room, then office.
However, the house needed to be power washed and that snowballed into painting the wood white and all the trim white.
The house looks wonderful and we didn't really realize how much it needed it
but this was not on our to do list.

The idea behind organizing is that everything needs to have its place
so I can train my zoo to put stuff away.
Another issue we have is everything needs to be in one place.
Not three different places in the house.
We also need everything to be more functional.

Hair supplies all in one place.
Easy to get to for school in the morning.

My bathroom was another snowball.
A few ants under my sink made me tear apart every drawer and every closet.
about 5 large contractor bags of garbage and donations came out of my bathroom and closet.

Another bane of my existence was my nightstand drawer.
This was a junk drawer that you could never find anything.

We had towels everywhere.
A tote of Towels in the garage, A beach towels in Kylies closet,
Kids towels in Bella and Jaxson's room.
Sheets in the attic, curtains in the attic, towels in the attic, blankets in the attic.

Now we have all our Sheets, Curtains, blankets, towels, beach towels, kids towels, pillows
in our two linen closets.
If it didn't fit, we don't need it.

I also have a bag problem.
BUT now all the bags are in just two totes easy to get to.
The rest are gone!

Even my book shelf is now functional.

This dresser is empty.
Was full of stuff.

All of our DVD's are now in one place.
We do need to figure out a storage unit for them.
But that is last on our to do list.
But if ya'all come across a cool piece of furniture that I could
refurnish in to a cool DVD storage unit please text me.

Another issue we have is papers and mail.
Our filing system was terrible.
This thing WAS always overflowing with important papers.

I now have every piece of paper, manual, filed all in one place.
The rest shredded.

AHHHH now onto the kids closets.
I took every item out of each child's closet.

Starting with Kylie's

Bella & Jaxson's
I have to keep reminding myself that this is two peoples things and it's going into two separate closets.

Kylie's new closet in Destine's old room.
Her's is a little crowded because her American Girl
and My Generations Doll stuff is in there until she gets her new room.

Only one small pile of too big stuff for the attic.
Two bags of trash and one bag of Kid Exchange.

And my room is back to normal with only those boxes left to put away.
The boxes are the baby keep sake stuff from Jaxson and Bella's room.
Jaxson's Christening outfit and such

Bella's new closet in Kylie's current room.

Jaxson's new closet in Jaxson and Bella's current room.

Even the random lost sock bucket was matched up and I actually threw away anything that didn't have a match.

Sorted EVERY Toy tote.
EVERY SINGLE TOY
Every single book
Every single bag of crafts.
Thinned out some and got some ready for the kids exchange.

Yes those are hundreds of barbie accessories

Jimmy finished the Dining room wall

Jimmy started on the toy room, soon to be the Office/Creativity room.
I can't wait for this room to be done.
We are (Jimmy is) building built in shelves and a Homework/Creativity station.

Removing more popcorn ceiling.

We decided to replace the fan/light with a smaller white one
because this one is way too big for this room.
Good thing, because when we took this one down
we found out they never installed it correctly.
It is the only ceiling fan in our house that is aftermarket that we didn't put in.
They didn't put in a T Bar when they installed.
Jimmy found the sheet rock cracking around the fan.
God definitely wanted us to do that room next.

This one is going in right.

I still have a lot to do but I at least feel like I have a handle on it.
I at least feel like I can breath again.
I was being smothered but stuff.

Also these pictures I took as I cleaned and I can honestly say
I can go to anyone of these places and take another picture right now and they are all still organized.
Whatever I am doing is working.
We are a work in progress.
