Lets Get Rugged...

Life is full of challenges.
My health has been an important goal.
I've always put everyone before myself.
This year is the year I start taking care of me,
with the support of my Family.
A few months ago we all signed up for the Rugged Maniac.
A 5K race with 25 obstacles.
We talked Lori and Chris in joining us in this Challenge.
This was a true challenge for Lori and I.

Here we go!

Jumping over Fire

Yes I look terrified because I am.

I love this pic of Lori

On the third obstacle I slid down on my arms and got a little road rash.
I will say that it did make the muddy pipes and ditches that we had to crawl through a little more challenging and painful.

My battle scars the next day.

This experience was amazing.
I tried every obstacle and only didn't complete 3 of them.
The Trenches: 12 sand holes dug 6 foot deep by 6 foot wide. I was able to only jump 6 of them. Lori completed them all.
The Rings: I wasn't even going to try them. This was the obstacle that I was fearing the most. I tried and only got through 2 rings before falling in. The only one from our group that actually competed the rings was Jimmy. He did an amazing job.
The Warped wall: Picture a skate boarders half pike 30 feet in the air. You must run and try to grab onto someone at the top and they pull you up.  Everyone made it up. I tried 3 times and was out of energy. It was the second to last obstacle.
I am really proud that I was able to climb all the wooden walls.
With my fear of heights,
climbing 30 to 40 foot wooden walls, up and over (3 in a row) was really scary.
At the end we went down a 50 foot slide.

I am so proud of all of us.

Now we are trying to figure out which one to do next.
The Spartan Sprint
or
The Dirty Dash

Jimmy is trying to talk me into doing a Tough Mudder.
I am only up to running 3.37 miles non-stop.
A Tough Mudder is 10 to 12 miles with obstacles.
Maybe next year.
