Every year we have a Book Club Christmas Dinner.
We meet every month.
I love my book club family.
Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to learn to knit.
My Gram had these very cool toilet paper covers that looked like dolls.
I loved them.
Going professional as a photographer, seeing all the knit props has fueled me desire to learn.
I mentioned this at one of my book club meetings and June my dear friend said
"I would love to teach you how to knit. It is a dying trade and I would love to teach you."
Thus starting our knitting club.
March 18 2013 was our first lesson.
When I found out my little sister was going to be buying a house, I started to look for a knit project that would be useful and perfect for her new home.
After visiting and seeing what she had planned for her living room, I found the perfect thing.
But it wasn't knitting.
I didn't get a good picture of it but I made her Leaf coasters and bigger leaf mats for her living room.
It was my first crochet project.
Yup June can crochet too and I love it.
I've done a few knit projects (scarves) but these were my favorite so far.
Just to give you an idea how Awesome June is.
She made all these scarves for a charity bazar.
Beautiful work.
I am learning so much from her.
She is amazing.
Me and My Dear Friend June.
My second Crochet project.
While sitting in the carpool lane I crocheted five sets of coasters.
Then I weaved in the ends.
The most important thing June taught us was how to read a pattern.
Yup Knitting and Crocheting starts with a pattern just like sewing.
Boy do I wish I paid more attention to sewing.
Something else I have always needed to learn but took for granted.
