This weeks Shenanigans at the Zoo...

It's always chaos at the Zoo.
But this week it got a little bit crazier.
While Mommy knew it was only a matter of time before they would break out of their "Corral", I was hoping I could get a few more weeks.
Mr. Jaxson kept escaping, I needed to adapt.

I met another twin mother at yoga this week. Her twin girls are 2 yrs old.
She asked "how old are your twins?"
"19 Months" I said
she replied with "oh your in the injury stage, climbing everything and fall off the couch stage."
I said "Yes, Oh My God when does it stop?"

She also has one who is a tattler and one that is a biter.
I was sad to learn that the biting hasn't stopped yet for her.

I rearranged the playroom/family room.
The playroom is a toy storage room, Kylie won't play alone in there (she says it's lonely).
J & B can't be trusted to play in there (I need to see them at ALL times).
Now I have 6 totes of toys in the Playroom and we rotate as they get tired of them.
Cars and blocks in one, trains in another, dolls in another and so on.
I also opened the corral but used it to block off the TV and game systems.
Jaxson keeps making Kylie cry by turning off her programs or the Wii and that's turns off her netflix.
He thinks that's really funny.

In the morning, after breakfast, I put their time out chairs in the family room.
This starts our day of:
Jaxson climbs on couch
he's put in time out
he cries...
Bella climbs on couch
she's put in time out
she cries...
One minute goes by
every ones free
(Bella must buckle time out chairs)

Bella grabs the rug (a small mat by door to the garage) and runs away
Mommy chases her around the family room and spies Jaxson out of the corner of her eye climbing on the couch...
Mommy has to unbuckle both chairs with one hand with crying baby's in the other...
Both are in time out
They both cry...
One minute goes by
Everyone is free again
(Bella must buckle time out chairs)

Bella grabs rug and runs away again (she's a fast little bugger)
Mommy goes after Bella
Jaxson sees it's time to race to the couch...
Mommy has to unbuckle the chairs
time out again
both crying babies
time out lasts one minute
(maybe it was 4 minutes this time, but who's counting)
Repeat this about two more times
Then it's snack time
I'm gonna have some chunky kids at this rate
snack time is getting longer and more frequent.

They will hate this picture of them kissing when they get older

Here's our tattler..

Here's our biter..

Sneaky little bugger

Spaghetti night
This is how Jaxson eats spaghetti
How Bella eats spaghetti

And Jaxson.... Oh my!

Bella loves shoes.
I keep a bag of shoes that Kylie out grew in Bella's closet and as she grows into them I pull them out. This week I got the bag out and they went crazy over shoes.

Yes they both have on one shoe.

Sneaky boy he knows he's in trouble

Kylie's flip flops on

I tried to discourage then from climbing by putting out the recliner.
It did work but then they go to the other couch.

Jaxson has always been afraid of the vacuum.
Kylie got a new play vacuum that really makes noise but she hasn't gotten to play with it yet.
Jaxson has taken it over and will not let anyone have a turn (with out a fight).
While I was cleaning today, Bella climbed the couch (surprise, surprise)
So as I put down the vacuum and put her in her chair, I turned around to find I had a helper.
With the vacuum still on he started cleaning.
At this point I took a seat on the couch myself and let him take over for a little while.

He ran across the room grabbed the toy and jumped on the couch.
He thinks he's mister smarty pants.
Took this right before putting him back in time out again

Bella thinks she is super smarty pants.
If I can't see her, Is she really on the couch???????

Hmmmm where's Bella??????

Hmmmmmm ??????
I see piggy's

Really Bella,
Yes, you are cute but off to time out we go

This week was sooooooo tiring.
People ask "what are you doing with all this FREE time with Kylie at school?"
I kindly say "nothings free, there's always a price."

I think they spent 60% of this week in time out.
 It is working?
I'm pretty sure it's not.
But we'll keep at it until ....
they stop climbing on the couch.

Please stop climbing on the couch, mommy's tired!
